Enabel BARAME: Boosting Team Performance

Challenge

The Enabel BARAME project in Rwanda invited  WORKwise  to facilitate a programme for the project team to boost their individual and team performance. The goal for this tailor made WORKwise programme was ‘to support team building and improve the personal performance of individual team members’

Approach

We believe a team is more than the adding up of individuals. and therefore we used the DISC methodology and the Culture Map for understanding the (intercultural) communication and behavioural dynamics in the team.  

WORKwise partners Elvia & Renée provided a five-month programme: kicking off with a two-day Grip-on-Work training and three personal coaching sessions. They then built on the effects of the first individual Grip on Work phase, while Getting up to speed as a team, during a second face-to-face workshop. DISC and the Culture Map tools enhanced intercultural communication, supported by online learning.

Outcomes

  • Reduced overtime, more family time.
  • Stronger personal leadership.
  • Enhanced team collaboration.
  • Greater role awareness.
