SNV Laos: Mastering Workload and Team Collaboration

Challenge

The SNV Laos team, part of an international development organisation active in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, faced high workloads, unfinished tasks, and limited work-life balance. Multicultural communication barriers hindered collaboration. A good challenge for WORKwise

Approach

Renée and Willemijn worked on self-management to set priorities, protect energy, and make conscious choices, using group sessions, coaching, and online tools. After the live training in Vientiane, all received individual coaching online, focussing on implementing the lessons learned in the live session. After all team members had gone through this full Grip on Work programme, we moved to the team. Jyotsna and Elvia worked with the team on strenghtening collaboration using theDISC methodology for identifying one’s  own working style and cultural profiles. We used these to improve communication and mutual understanding, as it shows different working styles and different cultural viewpoints

Outcomes

  • Confident priority management.
  • Better work-life balance.
  • Stronger teamwork.
  • Agreed team working principles
  • Focused work habits.
